What is PBIS?

 

It is a SCHOOL-WIDE design for discipline.  

It is team-based systematic planning.

It is for (and by) ALL students, ALL staff, and in ALL settings.

It is a program that can be upgraded as we go along.

Each month we will analyze the discipline data.

We will survey the staff, students, and parents for upgrades.

PBIS focuses on improving a school's ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.

Classroom Expectations

  • Actively participate

  • Contribute ideas and ask questions

• I am Responsible

  • Follow directions

  • Be prepared and on time with all materials

  • Stay on task and complete all assignments

• I am Respectful

  • Listen to the opinions, thoughts, and ideas of others.

  • Keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself.

Cafeteria Expectations

• I am Ready

  • Stay with my class

  • Line up and exit quietly

• I am Responsible

  • Stay at my assigned table

  • Leave the area clean and tidy

  • Do not play with food or drinks.

• I am Respectful

  • Act with kindness

  • Be polite to the cafeteria staff

Hall/Stairs Expectations

• I am Ready

  • Move with a purpose

  • Transition quietly

• I am Responsible

  • Walk on the right side of the aisle during transitions

  • Have a pass

  • Electronics turned off and out of sight

• I am Respectful

  • Keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself.

  • Be polite to school staff

Restroom Expectations

• I am Ready

  • Keep objects out of sinks and toilets

  • Keep stalls and bathroom walls clean

• I am Responsible

  • Have a pass

  • Leave the area clean and tidy

  • Report vandalism to an adult

• I am Respectful

  • Respect the privacy of others

  • Maintain personal hygiene

  • Photos and videos are not allowed

Bus Expectations

• I am Ready

  • Be on time

  • Follow directions

• I am Responsible

  • Keep the area free of vandalism

  • Listen carefully to the bus numbers

  • Report immediately to my bus

• I am Respectful

  • Stay in my seat

  • Use respectful language

  • Keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself.

Technology Expectations

• I am Ready

  • Bring a fully charged computer with charger to school

  • Only use school-approved websites

• I am Responsible

  • Immediately report damage to a teacher

  • Take care of my bag, charger, and computer

• I am Respectful

  • Use and care for all equipment

  • Cell phones should be powered down and in bags.
