Counseling Services
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
· Planned, short-term and goal-focused counseling, NOT long term therapy, as needed
· Recognize and respond to student mental health needs
· Assist students and families seeking resources
· Crisis Response - provide support and assistance to students and families as they navigate crisis and emergency situations
· Referrals-self, parent, and staff
SMALL GROUP COUNSELING
· Use of data needs assessment and admin/teacher feedback for group topics
· Conducted in small groups of students (usually 6-8 students)
· Quarter and semester-long groups
CLASSROOM CORE CURRICULUM
· Advisement & Counselor taught classroom lessons
· Various topics including, but not limited to, Social/Emotional Learning, Careers, Interpersonal Skills, Academic Success, and Teen Lures
· Align with Georgia’s Competencies for the appropriate grade level, as well as the American Counselor’s Association’s (ASCA’s) Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success
