I am humbled and honored to be selected to serve as the principal of Berkmar Middle School. It is a pleasure to be part of a wonderfully diverse community. I remain dedicated to valuing each student's rich history, tradition, and experiences and providing an environment where students and families feel a sense of belonging.
My professional background started 24 years ago as a sixth-grade teacher in the Gwinnett County School System. I have taught multiple grade levels and served as an assistant principal at Moore Middle and Berkmar Middle Schools. Throughout my professional journey, I have remained committed to positively impacting students' lives by focusing on building positive relationships, maintaining high expectations, and providing quality rigorous instruction which promotes their future success.
As I transition into the principalship at Berkmar Middle School, I am grateful for the foundation that Dr. Dorsan has established, and I aim to continue to build upon her legacy of supporting our staff, students, and community through having an open-door policy, a listening ear, and a visible presence.
I am committed to student and teacher safety, ongoing clear communication, and valuing different opinions. I pledge to build relationships with you and develop a partnership that ensures the success of our students and the school community.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
In partnership and service,
Felecia Jones

Ms. Ashley Bolton
I am excited to serve Berkmar Middle School as the 6th grade Assistant Principal! This is my second year at Berkmar and I love being a part of the family.
Growing up in the original Berkmar cluster, I went to Lilburn Elementary and Lilburn Middle before it was rezoned for Meadowcreek High School. Graduating from Parkview High School, I only left Gwinnett County for my four years of college at the University of Georgia.
The 2024-2025 school year will be my 22nd year in education, with 14 years as a math teacher at Peachtree Ridge and Parkview High Schools and six years at Pinckneyville Middle School as an assistant principal before coming to Berkmar.
I look forward to working with the students and families to see the learning and growth that will take place this year.
Start as a Patriot, End as a Patriot! Go Berkmar!

Dr. Tamar Housen
Greetings, Patriot Families!
I am Dr. Tamar Housen, a veteran educator with over 15 years of experience. I began my career in education in 2006 as a high school science teacher. After serving as a high school science teacher for ten years, I transitioned to middle school where I continued my role as a science teacher for two years before assuming the role of Assistant Principal at Berkmar Middle School in 2018. As an Assistant Principal at BMS, I leverage my skills in organization, management, planning, collaboration, and communication to support our students, faculty and families.
Outside of my administrative responsibilities, which includes my passion for fostering student growth and learning, I find joy in exploring new destinations through travel, enriching my perspectives and rejuvenating my enthusiasm for education. Additionally, I prioritize quality time with my family and friends, recognizing their invaluable support in my professional journey. Whether sharing meaningful conversations over meals, enjoying outdoor activities together, or simply relaxing at home, these moments of connection strengthen my commitment to nurturing relationships and fostering a balanced approach to life.
I look forward to serving the BMS community as we engage in another year of teaching and learning.
